Engine, Transmission, and Drivetrain
These three systems are the heart of any vehicle, so let’s look at them first. All trim versions use a twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine with automatic stop-start technology. This engine produces 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to go from 0 to 60 mph in just over 5 seconds.
The engine is paired with a ten-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with paddle activation. The standard drivetrain is AWD to allow a more comfortable ride across varied terrain.
Fuel Economy
With its size, of 210″ long by 93.8″ wide, by 76.3″ high, you’d expect the Navigator to be a gas-guzzler. This couldn’t be further from the truth, as its advanced V6 engine and sophisticated construction produce a healthy 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
Trim Versions
There are five trim versions available: the Premiere, Reserve, Reserve L, Black Label, and Black Label L. The Reserve L and Black Label L are extended versions, which lengthen the vehicle by 11.9″ to 221.9″. This extension increases cargo capacity without any noticeable decrease in performance.
Interior Comfort
Let’s look inside the cabin at the amenities. As you expect with a Lincoln, the interior is luxurious. The standard trim, Premiere, includes 10-way powered front seats, heated and ventilated first and second-row seats, and soft leatherette upholstery. The steering wheel is trimmed with real leather.
Additional interior features include tri-zone climate control, a telescopic and tilting steering wheel, and remote start. Higher time levels include 30-way adjustable massaging front seats, a power sunroof, and leather upholstery.
High Tech
The Premiere has a 12″ digital instrument cluster, a 13.2″ touchscreen, and USB ports on all three rows. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are installed, and a Sirius XM HD radio is included. In addition, the audio system is a 14-speaker Revel, which can be upgraded to a 28-speaker Revel if you choose. An additional 5.8″ touchscreen can be added to the higher four trims.
Cargo Capacity
Space is a vital requirement in an SUV, and the Lincoln Navigator delivers. If all three seat rows are in use, you have 19.3 cubic feet of space in the trunk. This increases to 57.5 cubic feet with the rear seating folded and 103.3 cubic feet with the second-row seating folded. If you choose the Reserve L or Black Label L, available space increases even further to 120.2 cubic feet with both seat rows folded.
